After years of debate, the Hong Kong Government has finally introduced its new Competition Bill. Many aspects of the Bill reflect the government's previous consultation proposals, but the Bill also contains several surprises that raise serious issues for the business sector. It is important that all members understand how the Bill may impact their business, and learn about the 'devil in the detail' so they know what operational changes they need to implement now, and can join the robust debate that is destined to ensue once the Bill is scrutinized by the Legislative Council.
 
Please join competition lawyers John Hickin and Gerry O'Brien from Mayer Brown JSM as they explain the most important - and concerning - aspects of the new Bill, and provide tips to aid business preparation and compliance. The seminar will also be attended by members of the Chamber's Business Policy Unit, who in conjunction with Mayer Brown JSM will highlight specific aspects of the Bill of potential concern to the Chamber, and invite comments from members for the purpose of preparing a submission to the government on the Bill.
